There’s not much us Aussies love more than seafood. And, we know how to tell the difference between the fresh stuff, and the not-so-fresh stuff. Thankfully, so do Lian and the team at Dianella Seafood Market. In fact, they’re seafood experts!
We spoke to Lian to learn more about what it’s like working at the Seafood Market and to find out a bit more about her.
When a coffee-run is required, Lian’s go-to destinations are Muffin Break, Zest Café or Jamaica Blue. Then, she’s ready for a big day of helping customers, who love Lian’s knowledge and amazing service. She also hears some funny remarks from customers!
“I introduce our customers to many varieties of fish. They always say they’ll be back for more, which makes me feel good. And people sometimes say, ‘your shop smells of fish!’ which is funny — of course it does! But it also makes me feel good, as it reminds me that we have our business up and running.”
When she’s not busy selling locally sourced, delicious fish, Lian likes to visit a couple of other retailers in the centre. “I go to Woolworths and Coles most often, to pick up fresh groceries and other home goods.” Lian also enjoys going for walks around the Dianella community and visiting the parks.
Dianella Seafood Market is new to the Centre this year, but is already popular amongst locals. Lian told us a few things she thinks makes the shop special.
“We have a huge variety of seafood that arrives fresh every day; it’s also locally sourced. We offer amazing service to our customers — we’re always giving recommendations and getting to know them. Our prices are also very good and cheap, but we don’t compromise on quality.”
So, if you’re ever in need of some fresh, delicious, Aussie seafood, make sure you visit Lian and the team at Dianella Seafood Market. They’re a local, family-owned business going out of their way to provide the best produce and customer service.
